Born in the vibrant city of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and raised amidst the dynamic rhythm of the Bronx, New York, Alecia’s journey has been anything but ordinary. Growing up in a large family might seem like it would be filled with love and security, but for Alecia, it often felt like being an elephant in a cramped room—constantly overshadowed and isolated.
Her formative years were marked by a profound sense of disconnection and inadequacy, a feeling that followed her into adulthood. Despite the external trappings of college, marriage, and faith, Alecia grappled with the same feelings of unworthiness that plagued her childhood. College was a struggle, her first marriage ended in divorce, and she wrestled with her spiritual path. Yet, these challenges were not setbacks but rather stepping stones on her path to Jesus-discovery.
Through trial and tribulation, Alecia learned to confront her insecurities and embrace her journey. The fire she passed through burned away co-dependencies and false perceptions of herself, revealing a stronger, more authentic individual. With God guiding her, she came to understand that her struggles were not in vain but a vital part of a greater plan, designed to refine her into the person she was meant to be.
